The Prison Role Play in Second Life group is intended to bring together all those who are interested in, or curious about, this unique genre of role play. The creators, leaders and members of this group are committed to the belief that a strong community will result in an overall enhancement in the quality of role play as well and increased participation. The content of our website will be from players who themselves are actively involved in one or more of the many role play environments. We will also strive to encourage those who are new to either prison role play or second life as a platform to get involved. What we are not is a means to in any way direct or advance a particular role play or spread drama. Such posts, comments or submissions will vanish with haste.
What this group is not is an attempt to guide the evolution of the community, style or quality in any way. Sharing, information and providing a forum for members to communicate we believe will enrich the role play of all. The focus will be on those who create for the more reality based environments and those who combine correctional play with other elements of law enforcement role-play.
While group owners and website editors will ensure notices and content are consistent with the groups theme, they will not edit others views. Thus the content of the website represents only the views of the authors. Comments are encouraged yet must remain on the theme and content, not in any way derogatory or personal.
The Prison Role Play is Second Life Group
This group has been founded to unite all those who are actively involved in the role play and to assist those who may be just slightly curious in getting involved.
General: Open to all Second Life residents who share an interest in the community.
Role Play Environment Owners and Administrators: Those who create and administer the various prison themed environments and who share a desire to expand, improve and develop the community as a whole. Environments can have up to two members with notice privileges and one member who can post to the blog.
Content Creators: These are the designers, builders and merchants who create products aimed that enhance the community. One person from each identity can have the ability to post notices and post to the blog.
Website Editors: Those leaders to whom members may send submissions intended for posting on the blog.
Sending Notices to the Group
This group encourages owners, administrators and merchants to keep the community informed of developments and activities that are of interest to the community. However excessive spamming of the group will end very quickly, please be responsible. All postings must be focused on your own activities and in no way addressed against any other individual or group. We are a community seeking to improve the overall quality and availability of role play, not a fight club. Those who seek to advance interpersonal grudges or personal agendas should seek another forum as this will not be tolerated.
Role Play Environments and Content Creators
Membership for RP environments and content creators is open to those who primarily focus on reality based prison, correctional or law enforcement role play. These come in many different flavors however the primary focus should be role-play based on real world corrections in the specific period of the environment. The primary focus should not be BDSM, S&M and Slavery as there are other places for those themes. Many content creators have offerings that cross many lines and thus only those which fit the theme of this group should be promoted. Any of the group owners can give you guidance. In exchange for environment or creator membership you will be asked to display a group membership kiosk at their in world location to aid in further expanding the community.
Role Play Environment owners and content creators are also encouraged to submit a description of their sim or the merchants business to be posted in the appropriate sections of the website. The submissions, in addition to being consistent with the overall themes of the group should include the following:
1. The name of the Environment or Merchant Store
2. The name of ONE Second Life Resident who interested persons can contact in world and an email if available for non residents.
3. A short description of the role play environment of at most 400 words.
4. Up to 3 photographs (maximum 650 x 650) to be included. One should be indicated as the primary picture to be used.
5. The address of any external web site the environment or creator may have which directly relates to the theme. Merchants can include a link to their SLMarketplace Store. We would hope that any listed website would also display a link back to this group.
6. An in world SLurl that those interested can use to teleport to your location.
This can be sent to any of the group owners who can also help you with any questions. We all benefit from an active and growing community; this is one way to aid in that development.
Contributing Blog Postings:
Any member may submit a posting for publication on the blog by sending it to an Editor or one of the group owners/website administrators. Please remember this is an entirely out of character site for discussion of themes relating to prison role play in second life. While the content should be of interest to others it should also represent your thoughts and opinions. Postings attacking others, those derogatory in nature or viewed as intending to create drama will not find a home here. Please also try to incorporate photographs where possible as this will dramatically improve the appeal of your post. Finally the blog is public and not intended to be mature beyond the very nature of the subject, so keep it clean!
